It is with great enthusiasm that
Lancer celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year. Alongside Lancer Corp
America, Lancer in Australia simultaneously celebrates 50 years of operation,
with a growing list of employees and loyal customers.
Brothers George and Judd Schraeder
started Lancer in 1967, in San Antonio, Texas. The company, which began
operating with only three employees and minimal profit, has extended to now
have branches across the world; including Australia, New Zealand, Belgium,
Mexico, Russia, and Brazil.
In Australia, and coincidentally
in 1967, Glenn Pleass started Glenn Pleass Industries, a company that
manufactured ice bank beer and soft drink chillers. Glenn Pleass moved to the
current factory in Beverley, Adelaide, in 1989, and five years later embarked
on a successful Far East joint venture in China.
In 1996, Lancer Corp acquired
Glenn Pleass Industries, as well as ABS in Sydney and New Zealand the following
year. Lancer further acquired Allbar, DA Manufacturing, and BMS. Hoshizaki
Electrical attained Lancer in 2006, creating what is now Hoshizaki Lancer Pty
Ltd. throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Over the past 50 years, the
company has manufactured and distributed quality beverage dispensing and food
service products to a variety of blue chip customers. The product range of
Lancer Beverage, which extends from full bar fitouts, to bespoke products,
under counter ice-bank systems, preventative maintenance, soft drink and Frozen
Beverage Dispensing systems, is all compliant with the latest standards and
equipped with the most innovative technology.
Lancer would like to take the time
to thank not only its staff for their hard work and valuable contributions over
the past 50 years, but also the customers who have continued to support the
business, and for their continued loyalty in the years to come. Thank you!
