To reduce our energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions we have replaced all six hundred of our fluorescent light bulbs in our Adelaide head office complex with LED lights!
By replacing our six hundred 36watt 240volt fluorescent light bulbs with LED lights we have reduced our light output by over 50%.
We are now drawing 20 amps, a significant reduction from the 50amps we were using before.
As a result we have reduced our overall electricity bill by 30% and will save several thousand dollars per month as well as significantly reducing our greenhouse emissions.
Managing Director Joe Thorp said “the investment in LED's and the labour to replace them all was significant, however with a payback of less than twelve months as well as the impact on the environment, it makes good business sense”
Our global “Hoshizaki Eco Plan” is a long-term program which aims to counteract global warming and deal with other environmental problems.
It allows us to focus on continuous improvement of our products and the “Hoshizaki Green Foundation” undertakes projects to preserve our natural environment.
We promote a variety of environmental preservation activities such as carrying out research and development into energy saving ecological product designs, recycling all office paper, cardboard and packaging materials and developing energy efficient equipment.
In fact our Lancer S4EV3 Superchiller currently being released to the market uses an incredible 34% less energy than the previous award winning S4E, which in turn used 32% less than the S4B that it replaced in 2011.
At Hoshizaki Lancer we are proud of our efforts which have led us to receive various TQCSI certifications including the ISO14001 Environmental certification which demonstrates our sound environmental performance.
