Overview
Lancer has recently installed a new beer system at the Settlers Tavern in Margaret River, which is in the South West of Western Australia (about 4 ½ to 5 hours drive from Perth).
The Settlers Tavern in Margaret River was built as a haven for the emerging local surf culture of the 1970’s and has grown to be one of the major pubs in the South West and is well known by locals and visitors. The existing beer system was a combination of equipment that had been supplied over a number of years by the major brewers. There had been many alterations of the system over the years to keep it all going.
Lancer were approached to provide a new beer system as Settlers Tavern were exploring the option of ‘going it alone’ and funding the installation as part of a complete refurbishment of the Tavern. This ultimately provided Settlers Tavern the flexibility to have whatever beer they wanted on tap.
Solution
In consultation with Settlers Tavern, Lancer Pacific custom designed and built 5 new 8 way founts which had never been built before.
In addition to this the python was installed in the ceiling and was fed down the fount, rather than from underneath the bar.
Due to the size of the founts they also required special custom built driptrays to be made so that the founts would be able to be mounted onto them.
A Lancer 8 kilowatt Everest chiller was designed and installed with 2 recirculation pumps as part of the chiller to cope with the volumes.

Results
The Settlers Tavern has been using the new system since December 2009 with many positive comments on the new founts and staff are enjoying the ease of using the new system during busy periods.
