Deadly Gas Leaks Can Happen in Your Bar. Would You Even Know?

You can’t see it. You can’t smell it. You can’t hear it. But carbon dioxide (CO₂) can kill—quietly and quickly.

Every time someone goes to change a gas cylinder, check a keg, or walk into your cellar, they could be stepping into a silent death trap.

CO₂ is heavier than air. It settles in basements, cellars, and poorly ventilated areas—places your staff go every day. Without warning, it can reach fatal levels. A single breath in a high-concentration area is enough to cause loss of consciousness, organ failure, and death—within minutes.

Imagine this:

  • A bartender goes to change a CO₂ tank after a long shift. No one hears the alarm that isn’t there.
  • He doesn’t come back up.
  • The next person goes to look for him… and doesn’t come back either.

This has happened before—and it will happen again to businesses without proper gas monitoring.

And it’s not just CO₂. If you’re using Nitrogen (N₂) to push beer or preserve freshness, you’re also at risk. Nitrogen displaces oxygen. One leak, and your cooler could become an invisible oxygen-deprived coffin.

LogiCO2 Safety System: Your First and Last Line of Defense

The LogiCO2 Safety System is not optional—it’s essential. It constantly monitors your environment for dangerous CO₂ levels, warning you before conditions become fatal. It meets all local and national safety regulations and is used in bars, breweries, and restaurants worldwide.

  • Four alarm levels to detect danger early.
  • Automatic calibration and altitude compensation—no maintenance guesswork.
  • Powerful visual and audible alarms that leave no room for uncertainty.
  • Optional O₂ sensor to protect against Nitrogen leaks.

No Monitoring? You’re Not Just Risking Fines. You’re Risking Lives.

Gas deliveries cost money. Minor leaks cost money. But one fatal accident costs everything—your business, your license, your peace of mind.

Don’t wait for the headline to include your name. Install LogiCO2 before it’s too late.

CO₂ Alarm Installation Guidelines

Sensor Height:
Mount CO₂ sensors 30 cm above the floor to detect leaks early, as CO₂ sinks and accumulates at ground level.

Horn/Strobe Height:
Install horn/strobes 2m – 2.5m above the floor, following NFPA 72 standards for visibility and audibility.

Detection Range:
Place sensors within 5m of a CO₂ source. If no source is clear, one sensor can cover up to 78 sqm.

Corridors:
If CO₂ is stored at a corridor’s end, install a horn/strobe at the entrance to provide early warning.

Basements/Lower Floors:
Install horn/strobes outside entrances to any below-grade CO₂ storage or distribution area.

Enclosed Spaces:
Place horn/strobes outside each entrance to enclosed areas with CO₂.

Altitude Adjustment:
Adjust sensor settings to the next highest altitude for accurate readings. Refer to the manual for steps.
