Case Study

Mayfield Ex-Services Club

Overview:

Opened in 1946, the Mayfield Ex-Services club was formed when the Waratah Mayfield RSL Sub Branch decided to form a licenced club, and allocated space within their premises for this purpose. These humble beginnings, as well as the Ex-Service Club’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure location for entertainment and responsible service of alcohol, has led to them becoming a well-known venue throughout Mayfield.

Lancer Beverage Systems were asked to design and build a beer system that set them apart from any other in the area. Whilst doing this, Lancer also ensured that there would be no disruption to service during the upgrade, and set up the venue with a temporary system to allow the Mayfield Ex-Services Club to continue trading.

Solution:

Lancer was asked to do a complete bar fitout for Beer Dispensing equipment in the venue, as well as decommissioning the existing beer system. Whilst doing this a temporary system was established so that venue could continue serving.

The fitout that Lancer installed includes:

  • Beer pythons to all beer stations
  • Keg room fitout consisting 16brands
  • 12kw glycol system
  • 4 x new beer stations consisting of a total of 36taps
  • Beer stations were fitted out with custom made inverted founts in new candy copper finish.
  • AS5034 compliant gas system
  • Beer pump system

The custom founts were a big hit, and ensured that the Mayfield Ex-Services Club had an edge over other venues in the area. By having inverted and two-tier founts which have smaller foot prints, the venue had more space behind the bar, further increasing the system’s value.

Results:

The venue, which reopened on the 8th of April with a total club refurbishment, continues to be busy and are looking forward to their annual ANZAC day function.
