Rorkes Beer Wine Food

Overview

Rorkes Beer Wine Food in Darwin features a very unique beer system fit-out – a first for the Australian market and was proudly installed by Lancer!

Our journey with Rorkes arose when owner Mitch McNamee approached Lancer to help design and install beer dispense systems at his new upcoming site in the heritage listed Commonwealth Bank building on Smith Street.

After having previously worked with Lancer and being wholly satisfied with our work, Mitch felt there was no better company than Lancer to make such an extravagant system work.

Lancer has proven to have the equipment which is both superior in quality and aesthetically pleasing to meet the sites high expectations.

The type of install Lancer where asked to scope was a new set up for the Australian market – a self-pour design where the beer taps are situated on tables and self-pour walls as well as behind the bar for staff pour options.Mr McNamee wished to have all beer products in the venue to be available on offer at every self-pour table and wall.

Lancer worked in conjunction with Mr McNamee and architects to come up with a system that was both revolutionary and easy to work once commissioned.

Solution

Lancer installed a beer system which includes 76 gold and copper plated beer taps, adaptors and founts throughout the two level site. Lancer then worked with an appointed overseas company to install metering systems linked to point of sale systems throughout the venue.

The metering equipment on all self-pour taps are linked to a POS system which is controlled via a pre-paid card method, opening and shutting off beverage flow as the card is inserted and removed. This allows customers to quickly and easily pour themselves a beverage, without lining up!

To enable ease of product changes on all tables at any time, Lancer designed a switchboard tapping station within the cool room so the operator has full control of which beers are served where and when.

The switchboard allows for all 7 self-pour tables to run 7 different product offerings over 14 tap points at any one time.

The beverages are chilled by 2 Lancer Everest Glycol Chillers.

Results

With Lancer’s assistance throughout the design, Rorkes Beer Wine Food is able to provide 35 product offerings to Rorke’s customers via self-pour systems and at bar staff pour.

The venue is embellished with 40 Lancer gold and copper plated bar mounted single founts, 36 self-pour founts and wall mounted taps which all connect to a centrally located cool room on the ground floor level.
