Overview

A landmark located in the capital of the Hunter Region, Ausgrid Stadium, formerly Energy Australia Stadium, is not only the home ground of Newcastle’s two sporting teams, the Newcastle Knights (NRL) and Newcastle Jets (A League) but it is also a modern and competitive functions venue whether it is a small meeting, large conference or a sell out sporting Event. This Stadium offers something for everyone!

The Eastern Grandstand was upgraded in 2005 with a Lancer Draught Beer Dispensing System installed shortly after. The installation consisted of 5 Bars in the Eastern Grandstand and 1 new bar on the Southern Hill. All bars had the Lancer Multi-fill Beer Dispensers installed to ensure the venue could cater for high volume dispense of beer to its partrons.

The new Western Grandstand redevelopment was completed in June 2011 and with the latest food and beverage outlets, corporate facilities, upgraded events venue space and the increase in capacity to hold up to 33,000 spectators Ausgrid Stadium is now competing on an international level.

Solution

With the build of the new Western Grandstand, Ken Sangster of Sangster Design was entrusted with the specification of all Catering Equipment including the Draught Beer System and Ice Machines. The Client was looking for a consistent product which could handle any load situation, being a small 100 person function to a 33,000 capacity crowd sporting event.

Results

The Lancer team, with the assistance of Beers R Us Beer Plumbing, supplied and installed all of the draught beer dispensing equipment into 5 Bars and 66 individual beer tap dispense points.

Each Public bar has been fitted out with Lancer Beverage Systems high volume beer dispense Multi-fills, designed to melt away the crowds and 2 x 2 beer taps highly stylish Iridium Founts. The Public Bars are all serviced from the ground floor keg cool room.

Each bar has an independent, 10kW Siberian Elite Glycol Beer Chiller to handle the peak demands. Flojet Beer Pumps were fitted to the two, level 3 upper concourse Public Bars which are 120m from the ground floor keg coolroom.

The Corporate Bar utilizes our highly stylish 6 way Iridium Founts giving it a total of 18 Beer Taps.

The Corporate Bar is serviced from its own, independent keg coolroom, utilizing a 10kW Siberian Elite Glycol Beer Chiller.

Lancer high flow CO2 Regulators were fitted to supply the correct CO2 pressures to the beer kegs ensuring a quality beer is dispensed and the venue is compliant with AS5034.

Plentiful clear hard Ice is provided by the Hoshizaki IM240 Ice Machine, capable of producing 217kg of ice per day.
