The Comiskey Group is a family-owned Queensland company with strategic operations in hotels, childcare and shopping centres. With a history spanning more than 30 years, the group is consistently at the forefront of industry innovation. Founder Paul Comiskey has been joined at the helm by sons David and Robert, and together they’ve developed some landmark projects in south-east Queensland.

Their most recent project “The Eatons Hill Hotel” has been designed and built to stand as an icon venue for Queensland. With 7500 m², 4 stories, 8 bars and 102 Lancer Beer Taps, it is an impressive undertaking for all involved.

Solution

With such a large Pub the design and performance of the Draught Beer System is a key element in providing good quality cold draught beer to each of the eight bars. The Comiskey Group thoroughly researched draught beer dispensing equipment, manufacturers and installers. Our reputation was evident and Lancer was invitied to tender for the project. The Lancer advantage over our competitors was not only our ability to provide the Draught Beer Dispensing System but to also supply and install our world renowned Hoshizaki ice makers and the know how to install the proposed gun based spirits system being purchased.

Results

Opening night was a great success and the Lancer equipment all performed as expected. Large volumes have been recorded through the Beer, Soft Drink and Ice equipment without a hitch.

The tapping board for the keg room is well organised, fully labelled and set up in such a way that the cellarman can easily manage it during the busy periods. The air driven Flojet beer pumps provide an economical method in dispensing beer in such a large venue and ensure not only saving in the use of CO² gas but maintain the correct CO² levels in the beer for the benefit of the consumer. Unlike other suppliers to the trade almost the entire Draught Beer Dispensing System is made of equipment either manufactured or assembled in Australia by Lancer Beverage Systems.

The Hoshizaki Ice makers have provided the venue with top quality, single cube, Crescent ice. This ice looks great in the glass as well as having the advantage of lasting longer in the glass than other brands. Due to the instant success of the venue the initial 3 machines were not enough during peak periods to provide the volume of ice being consumed. Rob had no hesitation in ordering another Hoshizaki ice maker which was supplied, installed and running within the week it was ordered. The Comiskey Group also have a Hoshizaki ice machine at their Beachmere Tavern.
